In short: To use Facebook Dating you need to be 18+, in one of the ~52 supported countries, on the Facebook app for iPhone or Android (there’s no desktop version), with an account that’s at least 30 days old. What you need to use Facebook Dating
Meta gates Facebook Dating behind four requirements — miss any one of them and the Dating tab simply never appears:
- You’re 18 or older — checked against the birthday on your main Facebook profile, so a wrong birth year will lock you out.
- You’re in a supported country — Dating is live in about 52 countries (full list below). No amount of app-updating fixes an unsupported region.
- You’re on the Facebook mobile app — iPhone or Android only. Meta’s own help page says it plainly: you can’t access Dating on a computer, and mobile browsers don’t get it either.
- Your account is at least 30 days old and in good standing — brand-new accounts and accounts with unresolved Community Standards issues don’t see Dating (it’s an anti-fake-account measure).
Where the Dating tab actually hides
Same path on iPhone and Android: open the Facebook app → tap the Menu button (☰) → look for Dating. Don’t see it? Tap See more first — Facebook tucks less-used shortcuts behind it. You can also type “Facebook Dating” into the app’s search bar and tap the shortcut that appears.

Why the Dating icon is missing (most common reasons)
Meta doesn’t publish an official troubleshooter for a missing Dating tab, so this ranking comes from the failure causes users most commonly report — ordered from most to least likely:
- Unsupported country — the #1 cause. Notably, Facebook Dating is still not available in Australia, India, Japan, or South Korea.
- The tab is just buried — behind See more in the Menu, or removed from your shortcut bar. Check before assuming anything’s broken.
- Account under 30 days old — wait it out; there’s no way to skip this.
- Outdated app — update Facebook in the App Store / Play Store, then force-close and reopen.
- VPN confusion — a VPN can make Facebook think you’re in an unsupported region. Turn it off and reopen the app.
- Stale login session or cache — log out fully, close the app, log back in (Android: also try clearing the app cache).
- Account restrictions — unresolved Community Standards flags quietly remove access. Check Settings → Support Inbox.
- Gradual rollout — Meta occasionally gates features server-side. If everything else checks out, it can genuinely just be “not you yet.”
